Train “AFROSIAB”

Modern and high-speed electric powered train “AFROSIAB” (model Talgo 2005) manufactured in Spanish company “Pantentes Talgo S. L” started to operate between major cities of Uzbekistan that are Tashkent and Samarkand.

Today, train AFRASIAB operates in directions of Tashkent- Samarkand- Karshi and Tashkent- Bukhara. In near future the train is planned to use in new part of rail road Bukhara- Khiva.

The train can speed up to 250 kilometers per hour. Thus the trip from Tashkent to Samarkand which is 300 kilometers will be passed in 128 minutes.

The composition of the train consists of 2 locomotives, 2 ‘VIP’ railway carriages 11 seats in each, 2 business class train carriages 26 seats in each, 4 Economy class railway carriages 36 seats in each, 1 Bistro railway carriage. In total there are 218 seats in this train.

In the train AFROSIAB the good conditions were created for comfortability of passengers and all of the seats are reclining and mini tables and footing are attached. There are also reading lamps and audio video modules are attached for fool comfort of the passengers. Above the seats there are special places for passengers’ luggage and hangers for clothes.  Each railway carriage has the information tablets that provide the information about the trip, the number of the railway carriage, the temperature and the speed of the train. The windows of the train are equipped with sunblind that is made of laminated glass that can provide a good soundproof. Regardless of the season and the temperature, very comfortable micro climate is supported inside the railway carriages. In Bistro railway carriage, passengers can try eastern and European cuisine and order fresh drinks, tea or coffee.
